CSIF Calls On New Minister Of Education To Keep 40000 Backup Teachers
CSIF calls on the new Minister of Education to keep 40,000 backup teachers due to the pandemic.
The Independent Trade Union and Civil Service Center (CSIF) demanded this Wednesday from the new Minister of Education and Vocational Training, Pilar Alegría, to reduce the ratios of students per classroom “to face the return to school with maximum security.”
“You cannot lower your guard against Covid and that you have to keep the nearly 40,000 reinforcement teachers incorporated in centers throughout the country due to the pandemic,” said the organization within the framework of the Sector Conference that This Wednesday addresses the start of the 2021-22 course.
The union considers that “the reduction of ratios would entail a substantial increase in the workforce for the next academic year” and that this was the reason for the mobilization in front of the Ministry headquarters that CSIF carried out in June.
“It is not admissible for classes to begin with the pre-pandemic ratios. In addition, another priority must be to accelerate vaccinations and achieve high quotas of adult immunization and complete vaccinations among adolescents in all communities,” the central requested union.
CSIF also demanded that the scientific criteria that justify the safety and hygiene measures proposed in the meeting between the Government and the autonomous regions be clarified , “taking into account the evolution of the pandemic in recent months and the reason for modifying the protocols.”
“The new ministerial team must lead and coordinate the actions of all the communities for this school year, which will continue to be affected by the pandemic and which must be alert to new variants,” he added.
