Epic Games denounced the Californian multinational because it kept 30% of the payments made by iPhone and iPad users who played ‘Fortnite’, and which were, in most cases, micropayments to get advances in the game. Apple replied and offered Epic to negotiate the commission, but they opted for the judicial route.

According to the ruling, Apple cannot force developers who use its platform, Apple Store, to use its payment system on their terminals, and therefore cannot charge them a commission for each purchase they make on it. In addition, it will be obliged to facilitate the use of competitor systems.
