There are so many amazing things to do when you visit Mallorca. For this article we are going to really look more at Port Adriano Mallorca for those who are bored of Palma and Portal Nous. You really cannot beat a trip to the city of Palma to see the amazing cathedral and potter around its winding streets stopping for coffee and churros. Portals Nous is great for looking at the glitz and glamour. Fast cars and big boats were always the mainstable of puerto portals,,,,but does it have a little competition witbn Port Adriano Mallorca and its mega yachts?

What to do in Port Adriano

Port Adriano Mallorca has a lot to offer, but it is very much a fantastic port rather than a village. You can get to Port Adriano Mallorca either via Santa Ponsa, and Nova Santa Ponsa, or though Son ferrer and El Toro. The port is full of restaurants and some shops and definitely comes alive at night with its fantastic lighting.

Port Adriano Mallorca – The history

Port Adriano Mallorca is a newly designed port, although it has been a port for many many years. Over 10 years ago Phillipe Starck began his involvement with this forgotten port in the south west of mallorca. It had to be completely rebuilt and designed since its main function was going to be to cater for super yachts.

Shopping in Port Adriano

Port Adriano Mallorca is a nice place to shop, but it does not compare with the choice on offer in Palma. We would not recommend that you go there specifically to shop for clothes. The port is a destination for a meal or a coffee and then a place to potter around the various clothes shops as part of the evening out. There are shops selling the usual stylish holiday clothes and bikinis, however there are not enough shops for it to be considered a shopping destination.

Where to eat in Port Adriano Mallorca

You will find many restaurants and cafes in the Port Adriano Mallorca. Some of the best are the ones that have been there since before the redesign. La Oca has mine and my family’s favourite pizza in the world. The restaurant is cheap, the service is excellent and with no booking system it’s great to nip down there for tea or straight off the boat for a mucky one. Next door is the wonderful fish restaurant El Faro – another restaurant that has been there for years with good reason. perfect quality fish and service every time in a wonderful setting.

If you head over onto the newer part of the marina, the restaurants become more expensive and in my opinion less impressive. The Harbour Grill & Coast are often full of the very rich off the very large boats. The restaurants are there to cater for them and charge the prices that they know the super rich can afford. Far too pretentious for my liking – but if that is your thing then these may be the places for you to pose and be seen.

Worth a mention is the great little Ice cream shop on the far side of the port and also Sa Cantina for amazing spanish meat platters and La Terraza, after 25 years still going strong and perfect to take the children to its roof top swimming pool.

Where to stay in Port Adriano Mallorca

If you want to stay in a luxury resort, then the one on Port Adriano Mallorca is the best option. It is adults only now though so no good to take the family. The Port Adriano Salt Hotel is situated at the top of the hill before the port and overlooks the stunning port and shops. Everything is within easy walking distance, although staggering home up the very steep hill after too much Cava is always a challenge!

Conclusion

With so many fantastic apartment complexes nearby and amazing golf courses too, Port Adriano Mallorca gets out vote for a great family holiday destination. It’s really easy to get a taxi to the Pirates Adventure show in magaluf just around the corner or the Jungle Park in Santa Ponsa too.
